Karün and our challenge

We are all nature
Our blog is a space to share different stories that have to do with our way of seeing the world..

Our blog is a space to share different stories that have to do with our way of seeing the world; from documentaries that we recommend to important news that is happening in the world. But the most important thing is to tell you what we do in Karün and why we do it. Let us be aware of what entrepreneurship means and hopefully, our experience can help other people who read it, so that we understand the decisions we are making and hopefully we can make them among more and more people. For this reason, it is important to explain the diagnosis of what we see in general, of how difficult it is to propose a change and, above all, how difficult it is to demonstrate it from the action. This is the first post of several that we hope to make in order to tell everything behind what we do in Karün.

It's been almost 10 years since I became an entrepreneur. I've been through a lot of difficulties; from being on the verge of bankruptcy three times to being hospitalized for stress at age 23. As a team, we have seen the need to push our capabilities to the limit, to test how far you can go for a dream and understand who are the ones who accompany you and who to follow.

During this time I have come to know wonderful cultures and people in different parts of the world. I have had to work closely and learn from rural entrepreneurs in the south of Chile and executives of large companies in northern Europe. Ten years seem nothing and at the same time that nothing seems endless. I think I can rescue an infinite number of lessons I have learned along the way, especially since I have the privilege of working with people as wonderful as I have been able to meet and with whom I share the same dream. However, I want to use this space to reflect on my mistakes as an entrepreneur and our mistakes as a team in Karün.

I've made a lot of mistakes along the way, and I'm still making mistakes. The important thing is that I feel that I am learning faster and faster from my mistakes and I do my best to be aware of them so that I don't make them more than once.

A few days ago I was talking with a great friend about our projects; the background of what we are looking for and also about the mistakes we make and those we have not yet made but which we could potentially make. In this conversation, I realized that in Karün, no matter how hard we try to do things in the best way we can, we cannot control how others interpret what we do, so it is our role to be concerned about communicating it clearly so that there is no room for misinterpretation. That is why we feel responsible for explaining in detail what we are doing and why we do what we do.

As a team, we strongly believe that together with many other people and organizations we can create a significant change in our society. There are those who are working in foundations, others from the corporate world, from politics, and others who literally with their own hands are building for those who need it most.

In Karün, we have decided to contribute through the fashion industry, using eyeglasses as a symbol of the change of perspective, necessary to rethink the way we see business, the way we live our lives, and how we want to build a society in harmony with nature and ourselves.

We are aware that only by making eyeglasses we will not change the world, but we want to try to be an example to others in the way we face challenges. For the same reason, we hope to inspire many people along the way and dare to question things, so that each of us can begin to generate change from our own reality.

Creating change requires a long-term vision. Patience and endurance - passion and conviction. But most importantly, we must be able to listen to criticism, accept our own mistakes, and learn to improve.

Karün is not a company that manufactures a product, makes up a nice story, and tries to sell it as much as possible. It is a case that we have to build among many, a case of collaboration, a case of love, a case of mistakes and lessons learned.

We want Karün to be a symbol of change, an example of the thousands of other things that can be done if we are open to the possibility of looking at the world from a different point of view. It's not just glasses, it's the effort and conviction of all the people who want to build a better place to live. And this is not marketing, it's the way we see the world.

We want to use this space to tell you about the path we are following and invite you to help us with ideas, comments, and constructive criticism. While we are doing our best, we know that there is still a long way to go and we are very open to hearing them. I encourage you to be a part of this change, to start looking at the world from a different point of view.
